If your cat has a scruffy coat or warm, dry nose, he may not be getting the nutrients he needs.

Dog food is not suitable since cats require much more fat and protein. Fed over an extended time, dog food may cause illness. Stick with a reputable, national brand like Purina® Cat Chow® brand cat food or Purina® Meow Mix® brand cat food.

People food can cause your cat to become finicky and is not likely to meet his nutritional needs.

Snacks/treats should never take the place of a balanced diet. Save them for special occasions.

Milk will often cause diarrhea, since most cats are lactose intolerant.

Fresh water must always be available to your cat. If your cat prefers water from the toilet, a puddle or pond, it is because the water in his dish tastes bad. Try substituting bottled or boiled water, or add a little club soda. Cats love carbonation.
