General Appearance

A compact, closely knit dog of medium size, a leggy dog having the appearance, as well as the agility, of a great ground coverer. Strong, vigorous, energetic and quick of movement. Ruggedness, without clumsiness, is a characteristic of the breed. He can be tailless or has a tail docked to approximately four inches.

Owning

The Brittany is a natural pointer and excellent retriever who makes a great hunting companion. The Brittany requires only a few minutes of brushing each day to maintain his lovely coat. Brittany's usually have execeptionally friendly temperments, they love people and get along well with other dogs.

Temperament

A happy, alert dog, neither mean nor shy.

Did You Know

The Brittany was named for a French Province. From 1934-1982, it was registered by AKC as Spaniel,Brittany. On September 1,1982 it's official name was changed to Brittany.
