Win a Chance to MEET CESAR!

Posted Sat, Aug 18, 2007, 2:18 pm PDT

To my fans, whose love and support have made Dog Whisperer what it is, I would like to share my love and gratitude.

Although I am blessed to be able to reach viewers every week through the show, it's hard to find the time to connect personally with the wonderful people who ask for my help and advice. Through the Web site and newsletter, and with the help of the books and DVDs, I try to reach as many people as I can. Still, I know there's no substitute for being there in person.

But now that I've finally zeroed in on the dates for my 2007 live seminar schedule, I hope many of you reading this will be among the audiences I'll get to communicate with, in person, face-to-face.

With the tour dates fast approaching, the staff at Cesar Millan, Inc. had the inspiration to create a video advertising contest to help spread the word about my seminars. Using a video camera or digital camera that captures video, we're encouraging fans and budding filmmakers to shoot a brief commercial that advertises my seminar appearances, then upload the video to YouTube.com for others to watch and enjoy. The winner of the contest will receive two VIP tickets to a seminar venue of their choice, as well as a chance for a meet-and-greet afterwards. To enter, email your YouTube link to us at contest@cesarmillaninc.com by August 29th.

With so much to do every day, I happily look forward to all opportunities to meet with supporters and fans face-to-face. Your appreciation of my work is such a big part of my inspiration. Together, we can all pitch in to make this a better world, one dog at a time!

Stay calm and assertive ...

Cesar Millan

Everytime she is out in our yard and the neighbor come out she barks and it get out of control. When we walk her she barks at anyone or any other dog that she see's. If she is not barking when we walk her she is freeting. It almost seems as if she is doing it out of fear. We have been trying to socialize her but haven't been very succesful. Will you Please help us to help Winnie?

First of all I want to congratulate Cesar for his show, I met cesar back in our high school years in Mazatlan, I need some advice, recently my dog was stolen and my 3 years old daughter love him very much they were born within the same week , and grew up togheter, and though it has been over 2 months she keeps asking when he will comeback, and my wife refuses to have another dog she says that she doesnt want a replacement since we all like him very much, what should I do in this kind of situation.

Obviously by my name I am a cat lady, and I have never seen your show, but my sister and Mother talk about it constantly. I have been the foster parent to a 2 year old pitbull/shar -pei. She is really sweet but doesn't want to mind all the time. And I have no clue on how to get her to mind. Any ideas? She likes to bark at people she doesn't know (usually men) and because of her looks, she scares them half to death.

We have the dvd for the first season of the Dog Whisperer. We don't have cable, and I read your book, but there is nothing like seeing you in action. My kids & I love to watch you. It is well worth the money. They can watch you over & over. We have a "yippy little white dog" mix that we adopted at 7. We used the "techniques" and now have a "cool little white dog" MOST of the time. The behavior that we've seen the most improvement is "marking in the house". They were going to put him to sleep. Since we've been the packleaders, this behavior has stopped! THANK YOU. We ended up adopting another little white dog that is 6 months old and we have confidence the we will have 2 non barkers if we stay consistent.

To my fellow posters, the answers are in his book, and at the end of every article he writes. Exercise your dogs, a LOT. I hope to get help with one of my three dogs who is too defensive to enjoy the dog park anymore. I don't know how to prevent him from being suspicious of male dogs at the park, so I don't bring him there anymore. I wish I knew how to adress one dogs issue even though the rest of the pack don't have his problem. Its not a problem at home, just out in public.

Hi Ceaser, I have a 1 and 1/2 year old half English Mastiff/American Bulldog. She is a beautiful dog but EXTREMELY SHY! She was not socialized as a pup and I can't take her anywhere without her trembling and being scared to death! I would love to be able to take her places with me but there is no way with a dog this large that I can handle her because she wants to break and run from everyone except me. I am scared she will get away from me and I would never be able to catch her.She has bonded with me but doesn't want anyone else near her even my husband. She has never been mistreated by us. I would love to be able to get some advice from you because it is so sad to see her so scared of everything. You can see fear in her eyes and it breaks my heart.Thank you for your time.

Cesar, would you please come to speak in New Orleans some time? I would love to see you. There are more dogs down here than you shake a stick at. Walk outside my door and you usually can see at least three dogs and hear about 4 more. There are a lot of dog owners here that don't neuter their dogs. I don't understand this. You know this is true with the three Katrina dogs you helped rehabilitate at your center. All three of them had to be fixed. Please, I think you could do some good here if you came to give one of your seminars. Thanks.

DISABLED WOMAN NEEDS HELP W/ SERVICE DOG (& 3 DOG PACK) I don't know if Caesar reads any of these blogs or if the list owner has direct contact with him, but I am in desperate need of somehow getting my situation presented to Caesar for help. I know a lot of people have issues with their pets, but this is far beyond that since it involves my SERVICE DOG, in which my physical well being can potentially be at risk should household issues escalate between my previously owned 2 small pet dogs & my large Service Dog - who's purpose in helping me is often compromised. For me to post here would be pages - since my situation is so complex & my disability (or injuries in the animal world) are viewed as a sign of weakness. Already an incidident w/ coyotes/ wolves (coyotes crossbred w/ wolves on East Coast)in CT who have already proven that by my being the target of a hunting pack one night when alone in my backyard = 1 alpha pair, 1 beta pair stalking & then charging me close up (thank God there was a small fence between us) w/ 6 other subordinates omega waiting in the wings only about 50 ft away! Prior to Caesar becoming well known, I raised/ trained my 2 dog pack pretty much on the philosophy of wolves w/ me being the pack leader, 1 acting as beta and the other, omega. Sounds kookie, but I have always been able to communicate effectively with them based on this philosophy w/ body language, growls, barks, etc. which I have become pretty fluent in understanding & communicating back = very effective for happy environment (and no 'back talk' :-) My problems I believe are arising from my somewhat recent physical disability (only 2 yrs ago now) & with the newer addition of my Service Dog which I raised & am owner training, which I was forced to do since there were issues w/ previous older Service Dog responding poorly to my condition & what everyone also figured out to be in relation to my pain medications (which are also used for terminally ill cancer patients). Several breeders had seen this happen before & everyone highly suggested it was best for me to raise a puppy that would be desensitized. Though I try to treat all the same, my Service Dog obviously gets a little different treatment & is ALWAYS with me since this is his job = arising problems including some nasty fights being initiated by my beta female - in which they are always in a struggle for dominance over each other. Neither one would dare directly challenge me after the 1st time it happened. Other behaviors are beginning to surface as well (toy destruction/ guarding, etc. - never food & NEVER with me - just each other) for starters. My Service Dog (still & always will be in training) is has always been responsive to me/ my needs - he is extremely well socialized since puppyhood & a deameanor to die for + his intelligence surpasses any other I've had (though my beta is too - they're both poodles) & training/ learning is as easy as just showing him what to do once or twice. He does all kinds of things from helping me walk & providing me balance/ security, pulling me out of bed, getting/ handing me dropped things, getting me things like the phone, etc. opening & closing doors, drawers, fridge, to name a few. But all of a sudden (since he just turned 1 a few wks ago), my Service Dog is beginning to display some issues when we're in public w/ nosing/ pushing me until I almost fall over (I am on crutches or use a wheeled walker), having issues w/ our vest, heeling, etc. - which he's never done before. Following commands are becoming debateable as

I am in desperate need of Cesar. I resuced a Husky about 8 months ago, Sid is 2 yrs old and hasn't been handle much at all expect for me. I recently feel head over heels in love with a man named Nick. Sid loves Nick as well, but refuses to come to either of us when we are outside. When I first got Sid he would run, but he would come to me, now he thinks it is a game and I don't know how to break the cycle without him getting picked up by the SPCA. The last time they said if they got him again they wouldn't give hime back! Nick has begged me to contact Cesar. I don't think their has been a husky on the show yet, and I guess I really need Cesar's help, not Sid...hahaha thanks so much. Tiffany Hall 513-373-1747 Goshen, Ohio
