amazingly my cat, chloe..responds not only to her"legal"name, but too several nicknames...i believe ,it's because the household only consists of she and i...so she must figure, whatever im saying...applies to her only and vica versa...sheree
Both my cats know their names...........Pistol & Muffin. They "most" always come when called. The funny part is we have several horses and if I call "Kitty, Kitty," there is one who comes running, even though his name is "Smokey". It is hilarious.
My cat is 17, he knows his names, and several other things, do you want to eat? do you want to go outside? come here? and No, to name a few. And of course his name is Buddy.
My boys know their names, Bug and Mr. Beasley. They definetely perk up when I call them. Of course, I have "pet" names for them as well; Buggy-Bug, Mr. Beesey and so on.....
all 4 of my cats know their names, iceman, kazzi, roach, synni, they will come running when called.then at times when you call one all four come a runnin....
My Cat.s name is Baby,he respond's to his name and talks back to us,he do's have the last miau,he is very anoying when we talking on the phone,he gets very loud.He understands german and english,he thinks;he is the center of the universe.
My cat is my baby! He is the 8th cat I have had, so his name is King Henry the 8th. Henry knows and likes his name and will come running from wherever he is in the home when I call him. I love him and I love his name.
I have two cats and they are brother and a sister. The first i had
in the house i named precious and she is the runt of the litter,
her brother who is the Tom of the litter i named princeton.I don't
know what it is but princeton is much more resonsive to hearing
his name and he also mellower than precious, she's the nosey
inquisitive one. I've heard it a male female trate...who know's i
Love them both, they are my kids....
wintercreeklady - that IS hilarious ...
my dear old Grandma before she passed, was calling to some geese during a lunchbreak we had by a lake on a long trip ...
she goes, "Here, puss, puss, puss ..."
of course the geese ignored her till she held out some bread crusts
I've actually taught my cats their names (and several important phrases, like 'come here in English and Spanish. Having bilingual kitties is very important to me...
My cats all know their names: Gilbert (a/k/a Kitty the Hut because of his fat belly); Sullivan (a/k/a Kitty Boy); and Carissa (a/k/a Rasta Kitty because of her matted fur). They also respond to their knick names with the exception of Rasta Kitty. She's 19 and not real keen on change.
I have two cats, Becca and Jake. Jake knows his name and comes when called, usally to my husband though. Becca is our kitten and she dosent know her name yet. I dont really have nicknames for the cats, so that probabley helps with them learning their names. Both cats are just independent enoughf to not come when called just to be fiesty.
Has anyone seen my cat CocoRoxy? She left the house in my red BMW convertible with Tom "Whiz" Johnson, the notorious pimp-cat of Chicago. I'm afraid for her life and well being. If you've seen her; notify me at once. she ran off with him before; but she left her kitty purse and AMEX.
I have 3 cats - Wishbone, Sally, and Dusty. Their nicknames are Wishwash, Sal-Bo, and Dustywusty. All 3 of them know their names. Also, Wishbone will walk beside me like a dog and he will come when called.
I have three cats, Savannah, Gemini and Gambit. Savannah and Gemini are 5 months old (we've had them for 1 1/2 months now) and they've finally caught on to the whole name thing. Savannah comes running when we call her and Gemini looks at us and takes a message. Gambit is three now and of course knows his name. He talks whenever we call him, but otherwise ignores us. anshugart your kitty will learn her name. She's still young and is learning so many things right now, names just aren't high on the list.
My cat I believe is the smartest of all.
Her name is 'Tiger' (a male name). She answers to 'Tiger', 'Tita' and since my mother doesn't speack English and doesn't know how to pronounce the name correctly, my poor Tiger has also learn to respond to 'Tagler'. I still don't know how it does it!!

My cat Jack Daniels knows his name and also answers to Chubby, Jackson, Dan Jackiels and a few others. My other cat Sam "Sammie" Adams has no clue what her name is I think. She just ingores me when called or stares at me blankly. I think she is a little messed up in the head.
Sammie isn't messed up in the head!! She's just a momma's kitty, she comes to me all the time!! Even when I call her "Samantha Bear" or "Sammie Whammy" or just baby talk her. :) You are just jealous b/c she loves me more! *muah!*
We have three cats... Sparky, Rudy and Lucky. Sparky, 7, has better things to do than to answer us, unless we have catnip in our hands...then he's all over us. Rudy, 3, is the more vocal of the three, he'll actually chat with you, and we have conversations with each other. He definitely knows his name. Lucky, 2, is the princess of the three, a rescue cat that loves to terrorize her brothers by pouncing on them and chewing on their ears. She knows her name, but like a lot of others, she gets back to us when she wants and not when we call. I love them all...each has a different personality, and they bring so much to our home.
My cat was feral when I got 'em. He was only about four inches big and I litterally thought he was going to murder me... though the night I brought "Squirt" home he hid under the couch, I had thought he hid all night but actually I woke up with him in my tee shirt... then when he stirred he went back to hissing, biting, growling, and everything else... He kisses everyones lips, cheeks, everything the first time he meets you, lol.
My cat is Misha. Her middle name is Lily. She responds to Misha, Mishkabibble, Mishabobeesha. We will call her if we don't know where she is in the house, and a few seconds later she'll come walking through the door.
I have several different names for my 2 cats and they also know the word "snackies". And believe it or not, my female know she gets snackies at 8:00 p.m, and if your not on time, she makes sure you know it.
